MAMPEC
MAMPEC is a Marine antifoulant model to predict environmental concentrations. Originally developed to predict environmental concentrations (PECs) for the exposure assessment of antifoulants in harbours, rivers, estuaries and open water. MAMPEC is also being used for exposure assessment in freshwater systems and discharges of chemicals in ballast water. It is easy-to-use and freely available.
The program can be employed in two different ways:
1: By using the installed version. This is the recommended option for users with full administrative rights. Install the program using Mampec_AF_3.1.0.5.msi. Do not accept the default installation path
C:\Program Files (x86)\Deltares\MAMPEC 3.1.0.5\
unless you have full access rights to this folder. It is highly recommended to choose a different location, for example:
C:\Deltares\MAMPEC 3.1.0.5\
2: By using the portable version Mampec_AF_v3.1.0.5.zip. This file can be unzipped and used in any directory or drive, including a USB-flashdrive. This option is recommended for users and situations with limited administrative rights. The Ballast Water Version MAMPEC-BW v3.1 is only available in the portable version.
For both installed and portable version, it is required to have installed the 32 bits version of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable package on your computer. If you need to download it (you can use the previous link) when prompted, select the file vcredist_x86.exe which corresponds with the 32 bits version with which MAMPEC was built.
